How cute is the Coffee Shop Reunion Dress? I’m a sucker for details in my dresses and everything from the floral lace at the bodice to the peter pan collar really piqued my interest. This piece, coming soon in sizes S-4X, is definitely one I will be adding to my closet!

Size 12 Mannequins at H & M

image

Photo of plus size mannequins at an H&M store stirs weighty online debate

A photograph of two mannequins at a H&M store in Sweden is stirring a weighty debate about female body images.

Unlike the typical size 4 to 6 mannequins that can be found in most retail stores, these mannequins are a size 12, with thicker thighs and softer stomachs, Yahoo! Shine reported.

The mannequins in the photo are wearing lacy lingerie that shows fuller curves.

Some women are embracing the new models, saying it’s a more realistic view of the average size of women in America, which is in fact a size 12.

Yes, dammit! There have been so many times I tried on an outfit that looked super cute on a mannequin only to be disappointed that it doesn’t work on me. And as a business, how could you NOT put mannequins of other sizes on display to realistically depict the clothes AND to cater to the majority of women in your market? I can’t believe this is stirring up “controversy.” Don’t you WANT your customers to feel comfortable and long for YOUR product?? Come on now, let’s not be silly. Go H&M :D

So last week, in an attempt to cheer myself up for the cancellation of the Gaga concert, I decided to buy some heel-less shoes! Bwaaah! I just love wearing these things! Less maneuverability than my regular heels but surprisingly, more comfortable?? o_O

Alas, they rock. ^-^

Excuse the super derp face!

Also, a cute blue top that was $3 at a thrift store! And lots of food in the bg.

It’s a wine-and-Tumblr kinda night. Here are some neato outfit photos!

Today, I realized a new development I had not noticed until just now. I’ve gotten to the point where, even on the off days or the days I just can’t help but feel down, I can look in the mirror and say, “I look good enough.” I don’t know if you understand how profound this is especially for a girl to accept that about herself but you know what? I am beautiful and at the very least, I look good enough. No self-doubt. No inner turmoil over their ephemeral shells. No self-hate.

I hope everyone, guy or girl, will reach this stage at least once in their life. :)

In one of my earlier blog posts, I talked about my approach to shopping, and how one of the fundamental elements is know what colors work for me. It doesn’t matterhow flattering a cut looks on you, if it doesn’t go with your skin tone, you’re not going to look your best. Here’s a simple everyone-can-do-it way to find out whether your skin has cool tones or warm tones in it: Flip over your arm and look at the veins. Veins that appear greenish indicate yellow undertones which means that your skin tone is warm. Veins that appear to be more blue indicate blue undertones which means your skin tone is cool. See how easy that was? Who said style is difficult? It’s all about exploration! Now, not everyone will be polarized to one side or the other, and this chart doesn’t include some colors that i would argue one side or the other can still pull off. This is where you come in. Being aware of which end you are closer to will do most of the work for you! I’ve only found a palette that works for me through years of experimentation-but this is half the fun :D

A post from the most fashion-conscious girl I know and the one who inspires ME to constantly be creative in my wardrobe design. Man, this post = mindblown! @_@
