In one of my earlier blog posts, I talked about my approach to shopping, and how one of the fundamental elements is know what colors work for me. It doesn’t matterhow flattering a cut looks on you, if it doesn’t go with your skin tone, you’re not going to look your best. Here’s a simple everyone-can-do-it way to find out whether your skin has cool tones or warm tones in it:
Flip over your arm and look at the veins. Veins that appear greenish indicate yellow undertones which means that your skin tone is warm. Veins that appear to be more blue indicate blue undertones which means your skin tone is cool.
See how easy that was? Who said style is difficult? It’s all about exploration!
Now, not everyone will be polarized to one side or the other, and this chart doesn’t include some colors that i would argue one side or the other can still pull off. This is where you come in. Being aware of which end you are closer to will do most of the work for you! I’ve only found a palette that works for me through years of experimentation-but this is half the fun :D
A post from the most fashion-conscious girl I know and the one who inspires ME to constantly be creative in my wardrobe design. Man, this post = mindblown! @_@
A drawing tutorial I made since people kept asking about my “confident linework.”
